Plan Your Next Special Event at High Head

The Setting Changes Everything

Some places are simply made for gathering.

High Head has been a place of arrival and celebration since 1937. A historic waterfront estate on Eggemoggin Reach where three residences, ten bedrooms, and thirty acres of Maine coastline come together to create something rare: a setting that feels both grand and deeply personal.

Whether you are planning an intimate family reunion, a corporate retreat away from the ordinary, or a small wedding where the setting does the work, High Head offers the kind of backdrop that makes every occasion feel significant.

A wooden deck overlooks a body of water with a forested island and distant shoreline under a partly cloudy sky.

Weddings & Engagements

Exchange vows with Eggemoggin Reach as your witness. High Head's grounds, deepwater dock, and iconic observation Tower offer a ceremony setting unlike any hotel ballroom or traditional venue. With the estate sleeping up to 22 guests across three residences, your closest people stay close — waking up together the morning after, lingering over coffee with a view of the water out every window.

We accommodate small, intimate weddings, elopements, and engagement celebrations designed around the property itself. We’re happy to share a list of local vendors to help you plan.

A decorated event table featuring a centerpiece of pink and white flowers, with blue and white checkered napkins, glassware, and place cards, in a bright, airy setting with wooden chairs.

“On this magical day in this magical place, I married the love of my life surrounded by generations of our loved ones. And in the exquisite natural beauty surrounding High Head, we start our journey together.”

Family Reunions

Three generations all together in one place — across three residences with enough space for everyone to find their corner of the estate.

High Head has a way of drawing people together: around the dock at sunset, up in the Tower with binoculars, and out on the water. A reunion here becomes less about logistics and more about spending the kind of time together that actually matters.

At High Head, you’ll find activities for everyone: a basketball and tennis court, indoor game room, equipped dock house, and plenty of spaces to gather, dine together, and unwind.

“A perfect spot for our family gathering of 15 people of all ages. We loved the view, the accommodations, and that you are restoring a place with a fascinating history. We were very lucky to enjoy all the activities including a perfect day for a sail on Cirrus.”

Corporate Retreats

Step away from the conference room and into a place that encourages a different kind of thinking. High Head's combination of natural beauty, historic character, and uninterrupted waterfront creates the conditions for focus, candor, and genuine connection among teams.

The estate accommodates working sessions alongside the kind of informal time — kayaking, sailing, evening meals — where the real work of building a team gets done.

A cozy indoor space with large windows showing a scenic view of water, small islands, and a cloudy sky. Inside, there are several upholstered chairs and a small table with magazines, and a telescope is positioned near the window. Two people are seated and engaged in conversation.

“Thank you for welcoming us into your space - a space that was deeply and authentically cultivated to provide wonder, inspiration, and beauty to all those who step foot onto this land.”
